چکیده

Mobility modelling is a critical element in the development, dimensioning and deployment of any cellular network infrastructure. As subscribers generally move in a deterministic manner, the mobility model used should reflect these inherent user patterns. Throughout a typical day, due to work/recreational activities, users are attracted to different areas of a cellular network, i.e. outlining cells of a city experience busy hour traffic in the morning as users are entering the city centre. To capture these inherent user mobility patterns, we propose a cellular network mobility model using attraction points distributed throughout the network to influence the destination of a user depending on the time of day. A key element in the proposed model is its simplicity of implementation with minimal computational overhead making it an ideal candidate for network analysis where real user mobility data is unavailable or the computational overhead of such a model is excessive.

Neural Network Modelling of Optimal Robot Movement Using Branch and Bound Tree

In this paper a discrete competitive neural network is introduced to calculate the optimal robot arm movements for processing a considered commitment of tasks, using the branch and bound methodology. A special method based on the branch and bound methodology, modified with a travelling path for adapting in the neural network, is introduced. The main neural network of the system consists of diff...

Modelling Customer Attraction Prediction in Customer Relation Management using Decision Tree: A Data Mining Approach

In Today’s quality- based competitive world, known as knowledge age, customer attraction is of ultimate importance. In respect to the slogan “customer is always right”, customer relation management is the core of an organizational strategy playing an important role in four aspects of customer identification, customer attraction, customer retaining, and customer satisfaction. Commercial organiza...

Active and reactive behaviour in human mobility: the influence of attraction points on pedestrians

Human mobility is becoming an accessible field of study, thanks to the progress and availability of tracking technologies as a common feature of smart phones. We describe an example of a scalable experiment exploiting these circumstances at a public, outdoor fair in Barcelona (Spain). Participants were tracked while wandering through an open space with activity stands attracting their attention...

Fuzzy based efficient drone base stations (DBSs) placement in the 5G cellular network

Currently, cellular networks are one of the essential communication methods for people. Providing proper coverage for the users and also offering high-quality services to them are two of the most important issues of concern in cellular networks. The fifth-generation cellular communication networks can provide higher data transmission rates, which lead to a higher quality of service but this hig...

On the Optimal Frequency and Timing of Control Points in a Project’s Life Cycle

The dynamic nature of projects and the fact that they are carried out in changing environments, justify the need for their periodic monitoring and control. Collection of information about the performance of projects at control points costs money. The corrective actions that may need to be taken to bring the project in line with the plan also costs money. On the other hand, penalties are usually...
